Looking back at the “A Christmas Story” shoot, Ward said it was the first time he witnessed Hollywood magic. While Ward has appeared at the popular Cleveland tourist attraction a number of times, this visit is personal. It’s lightning in a bottle - you’re very blessed to catch it.” You can’t plan to become something like that. The director made this brilliant film that is a timeless classic. When I was 13 years old, I was just a little boy who showed up and got the job. It continues to be a surprise blessing and a gift. “It was an incredible experience to connect with all of these people. “The streets were filled with grandparents, parents and little kids. “I remember walking outside on the front porch on opening day and seeing what had to be, like, 5,000 people lined up to get in,” said Ward, calling from Akron. When it opened, it allowed Ward to witness firsthand just how much people love the classic film. These days the attraction to Northeast Ohio is, of course, A Christmas Story House & Museum.
